Christmas decorations

Christmas decorations are traditionally put up after Totensonntag (Memorial Sunday), which is the last Sunday before the first Advent. However, many people start decorating indoors from mid-November onwards, while outdoor lights are usually not put up until the end of November.

Monochrome arrangements in anthracite and silver are trending, combined with natural elements such as pine cones. LED candles with moving flames, modern candle holders in geometric shapes, and minimalist Advent wreaths in olive green or beige are particularly popular.

In addition to classic red and gold, anthracite, olive green, and warm beige dominate festive decorations. These can be wonderfully combined – for instance, olive green advent wreaths with golden accents, or anthracite lanterns with white LED candles.

Traditionally, Christmas decorations remain up until Epiphany on January 6th. However, many people clear them away after New Year's Eve, while others enjoy the festive lighting, especially LED candles and subtle lanterns, until the end of January.
